For centuries, the ancient Indian epics and literature have been integrated and demonstrated to the audience through dance and music. ‘Slipathikkaram’ is an earliest extant Tamil text that discusses dance and music in a broader perspective. It also vividly describes the historical and socio-cultural perspective of Tamil society of the period, its cities, the people's religious and folk traditions and their gods.

Silampil Pathinoru Adalgal is a thematic presentation based on the performance by an impeccable dancer Madhavi during ‘Indira Vizha’. Madhavi performed eleven different types of dances according to the epic. The dances are about a fight between the good and bad and the ultimate victory of good over evil.

This digital presentation includes the story of Silapathikkaram to understand the characters involved in the epic. Following that, all the eleven dances will be explained and among them four dances will be performed through Bharatanatyam, set to Vocal Music, Mridangam, Bansuri and Pipa as the original score. This cross-cultural production puts together a creative and contemporary approach in a unique digital presentation.
