The visionaries behind Sakthi Fine Arts, dedicated to nurturing Indian classical traditions in Singapore.

Founded in 2012 by Shri. Ramu Karuppiah and Smt. Devi Veerappan Karuppiah, Sakthi Fine Arts began with a singular mission: to promote Bharatanatyam and instill a deep appreciation for Indian heritage. Over the decade, their leadership has expanded the academy into a hub for Carnatic Vocal and Veena, fostering cultural pride for generations to come.

Ramu Karuppiah brings a wealth of technical expertise and managerial experience to Sakthi Fine Arts. As a Senior System Engineer specializing in VMware and Azure Cloud solutions, he has accumulated over 10 years of professional experience in technical management.

In his role as Chairman, he provides the crucial technical direction required for the development, design, and systems integration of all academy productions. His leadership ensures that Sakthi Fine Arts leverages modern technology to enhance both its operations and its educational outreach across Singapore.

Devi Veerappan Karuppiah

Smt. Devi Veerappan Karuppiah

Artistic Director & Co-Founder

Devi Veerappan Karuppiah is the heart of Sakthi Fine Arts' artistic excellence. Her journey began at age 4, training under the legendary Kalaimamani Dr. M.S. Sarala. Today, she holds a Master’s in Fine Arts (Bharatanatyam) and is recognized for her dedication to the purity of the art form.

As Artistic Director, she has empowered hundreds of students to perform on prestigious international stages. By integrating Tamil literature and classical aesthetics into the curriculum, she ensures that students do not just learn dance, but also the deep philosophy and culture behind every movement.
